---------------------------------------------------------------------
To understand the rest of this post, one has to be educated on the Rozakii "Topic Wheel"
the topic wheel was a large round piece of wood, separated into several sections ( almost like wheel of fourtune) and each section had a topic of conversation. It was bolted onto a sunshade support to be spun. It had some 50-60 topics on it that one could discuss, when conversation went stale... or went somewhere it shouldn't go, and with 30+ people in camp conversations really did go places they should never have.gone
However, because it was designed by Rozakii's, and Rozakii is a mostly fighting household, every other topic was fighting. Examples of other topics where " Naked Celts, the Damn Marines, Broads, Home rennovation, Gardening, Who's doing Who.... The topic wheel itself was a Pennsic highlight, and I'm considering having one in my own home but that would be another story. Now that you have been educated as to what the topic wheel is, I can go on with my story.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been back in the mundane world for a few days now, and I've had time to think about all the hapenings at Pennsic. I have decided on my Pennsic XXXIII highlight.
It was Wednesday night, at the Rozakii Party, which is Canada themed with Canada "Lick on" Tatoos ( Tarquin had Way too much fun licking tattoos on to all the women coming into the party) and Canadian Baloons and little papper flags.
While I usually prefer listening to the drums as people dance by the fire ...and become mesmorized by the flames, I was pulled aside by Drew, who already was tipsy on what beers he had served himself.
In a half drunken studder he pulled down on my arm and yelled into my Ear... " Becca you have to see this... Tynne's gone Nutts!"
Well sure enough, by the time I got dragged under the Sunshade, Sarnac, and Uncle J Were cheering along Tynne while he did shots of Ouzzo.Tynne was putting on little happy Dances and explaining thatthere is a definition to Opah!( 2 Points to who ever can remember, cause I can't)
I Got there when he had half a bottle gone already. It seemed almost a game.
First, someone would yell " SPIN THE WHEEL" and some poor shmuck would get stuck spinning it as we all fall in silence. It would then land on a topic... Sarnac would then tell a story related to that topic ( And Sarnac tells Very funny stories I Liked his story about his mysterious injury best) And then Uncle J would sing a song about that topic as well. I was impressed that Uncle J could think of a song for each topic. When Storry time was done, Every one would yell "OPAH!" and Tynne would have a shot. Once the shot was done and a few more cries of Opah! were let out, Then we would all yell out again " Spin The Wheel!" This pattern continued for the most part of 3 hours. And As we all drank more, And Tynne got even more drunk we all got sillier and sillier. And the crowd grew watching the drunken entertainment, We would all sing along with Uncle J as if it were a pub sing.
Part way through the night when we were all getting very silly, We started a Canadian "Tag and Release" program. A few of us started taking our paper Canadian flags and tucking them into the back side of peoples belts of all thoose who were not Canadian, the told them they had just been " Canuked-up" After a while, That wasn't fun enough, so we decided to go On a "Stealth Mission" to Trimaris ( An SCA Kingdom from Florida) , who suposedly also was having a party that night. Our plan was to fill their camp with Canadian flags and try to go un noticed.
Well Unfortunatly for them, Their part wasn't as hoppin as ours that night, They had 8 People sitting at the gate, Thats it, A WHOLE 8 people as we rushed in, We wern't so stealthy after all.
We tagged their pavillions, Drew tagged their kegs, in true canadian fasion. I got their Banner, And Sarnac Tagged all the pretty ladies at the gate. We were suddenly Joined by 3 or 4 Hrogan ( A Household based mostly in Ontario) and Sang The Canadian Anthem at their gate and promptly left.Full of giggles.
It was all very Random and Silly, And I think That made it the funnest.
By the time We got back to camp, Tynne had started on his 2nd bottle of Ouzzo. We sang more and were all very obnoxious. It was a random and fun night.
I think I will remember it for some time to come.
As For Tynne, The next day we sent someone to go check in on him every so often, to make sure he wasn't sleeping in his own vomit And he finally woke some time between 4 and 5 pm I was pretty sure he was still drunk. I think he was thankfull that it was a cloudy cool day so he didn't get baked out of his tent. He forbade us from yelling Opah! , saying Ouzzo, or speaking of any body part involved in puking
All I Have to say,
Tynne... thanks for being so " Self Sacrificing" for us to have such a night of fun... You helped make my Pennsic.
